Quake Multiplayer Map Column Chaos

Column Chaos is a multiplayer free-for-all deathmatch level for Quake. The idea behind the level was to create a central area where the majority of combat will take place. Everything revolves around this centralized area with all paths leading around and to it. The idea is to make it so all paths lead to this central area with a variety of paths that make the combat fast paced and chaotic.  Each part of the map has at least two paths to ensure movement of the players. The map is meant to be roman-style with lots of stone and the appearance of being built without modern techniques.

Quake Singleplayer Map Temple Invasion​

Temple Invasion is a singleplayer campaign level for Quake.  The idea behind the level was to create a map that feels like the player is invading a temple-like structure that has some secrets along with the enemies.  The lava is meant to invoke a theme of hellish environment.  The level is meant to have dangers from both enemies and the environment.  True to the original Quake I included secret areas that rewarded players with powerful gear/weapons; these areas are meant to be secret and high risk but high reward.​

Cottage House

The Cottage House is a level I created in maya and used substance painter to a very limited degree.  The idea behind the project was to create a small cottage house using reference images and a starting floorplan.  This level could be used for a first person game that required a cottage house.  I focused on creating the kitchen scene and making adjustments to the scene based on my ideas for the level.  The result was a greybox of the floorplan and detailed models for the kitchen.   

Wizard's Tower Level

The Wizard Tower is a level I created in maya and imported into Unreal Engine.  The idea behind the project was to the create first level for a fantasy version of a first person detective-type game in which the player wakes up in a bed with no memory for the past 48 hours.  The goal of the game is to find out what has happened to the player's memory and why their memory is gone; the player does this by finding clues and information which is then pieced together to solve puzzles.  I greyboxed the first level which takes place in a wizard's tower; this area is part bedroom and part office.

Candle Light​

Candle Light is a slice of game that I created with a small group within unity.  The idea behind the project was to create a slice of a puzzle horror game that would take places in a Victorian era manor.  The goal of the player is to solve puzzles and find clues to unlocking the massive gate and escape.  I focused on creating the level and implementing the various art assets into the game along with some QA work and task management.

Cat Herder​

Cat Herder was a short two weak game project that I created with a small group.  The idea behind the game was to create a simple game with a goal of herding the escaped cats back toward their pens.  I focused on creating the level and implementing the various art assets into the game along with some QA work.

These were my first forays into level design done many years ago in which I created a couple of custom multiplayer maps for Counter Strike Source (glass floor servers).  I created a couple of maps glass bases and glass ice war using Valve Hammer.
